Client Spotlight - Good Bones Design
I first worked with Graham Veysey of Good Bones Design in 2013. At that point Graham was based in Greenwich, CT. I designed her logo and I coded her website from scratch! It was way before I discovered Squarespace.
Fast forward 13 years and she has since moved her family of five and her business to Nantucket, Massachusetts.
Her current website was in need of a refresh. It was built with Wordpress and Graham didn’t know or have time to figure out how to update it. She didn’t want to change her logo, she loved the original cross bones concept that I did years ago and I did too, I thought it still worked but I thought the proportions of it and some elements needed updating, especially for the new website. We kept the primary typeface, swapped out the secondary font and developed a set of logo variations to give her more flexibility across different applications. Small changes, but they make a difference when you’re trying to use a mark consistently across print, web and signage.
The website was a bigger undertaking. Interior design lives and dies by its photography, so the focus was on getting out of the way and letting the work speak. Clean layout, straightforward navigation, nothing competing with the rooms themselves.
It’s always interesting to return to a project after more than a decade. You can see clearly what held up and what needed updating. The original logo held up. It just needed some refinement to match where the studio is now.
